About Spectrum Ecology
Spectrum Ecology provides specialist ecological support for film and television productions working in protected landscapes, historic properties and environmentally sensitive locations across the UK.
Founded in 2009 by Leigh Tuck and Daniel Lock, the consultancy combines extensive field experience with a practical understanding of location filming. We work alongside production teams to identify ecological risks early, plan proportionate mitigation and support responsible filming on location.

How we work
Production schedules are demanding, and ecological requirements need to be communicated clearly. Our approach is collaborative, proportionate and solutions-focused.
We aim to give productions a clear understanding of the issues at a location, what action is genuinely necessary and how ecological considerations can be incorporated without unnecessary complication.
Experience in sensitive locations
Our work has taken us to woodlands, coastlines, historic buildings, protected sites and other environmentally sensitive locations. We can support a production from an initial location review and tech recce through to preparation, filming and completion.
